BASIC BELIEFS

St. Michael’s Church is part of the Charismatic Episcopal Church (CEC), a global communion of local congregations.

We are men and women of faith, disciples of Jesus Christ gathered from diverse backgrounds, seeking an expression of the church that is charismatic, evangelical and sacramental.

We are committed to advancing the kingdom of Heaven by proclaiming the Gospel to the least, the lost, and the lonely.

Our communion is submitted to the authority of Holy Scripture as interpreted by the continuing witness of the undivided church.

Our worship is ancient and contemporaryholy and joyful. If you attend our services you might find us similar in some ways, and different in others, than churches you have attended. Although there are many kinds of churches they often fall into three major practices—or streams—of worship:

  • Charismatic…..Emphasis on the Holy Spirit
  • Evangelical…..Emphasis on the Bible and the declaration of the Gospel
  • Sacramental…..Emphasis on the Sacraments

At St. Michael’s Church we blend these three streams into one river of worship. Why not visit and let us know what you think?

For more on the Charismatic Episcopal Church, visit our communion’s home page. The CEC is not now, nor has it ever been, affiliated with the Episcopal Church (USA).

We Believe

  • that the holy scriptures are the final authority on all matter of faith, doctrine, and practice. Where scripture does not speak clearly, we defer to apostolic tradition.
  • that the historic creeds of the undivided Church provide a clear and indisputable summary of the Christian faith.
  • that we are saved by grace, through faith in the atoning work of Jesus Christ.
  • that the sacraments of the Church impart the grace of God that the Holy Spirit is at work today through spiritual gifts and signs given to the Church.

Our Mission

The purpose of Saint Michael’s Church is to bring spiritual freedom to the people of South Orange County. Saint Michael’s brings the message of God’s love for the world to our friends and neighbors in the surrounding communities. We provide a secure environment where fellow Christians can grow in their personal relationship with God. By equipping people to have a positive impact on the community through the application of Christian principles, Saint Michael’s continues the ministry of Christ: bringing the Kingdom of God to earth.
